The Hepatitis B virus vaccine is a vaccine that prevents hepatitis B infection. It is recommended for babies at birth. Routine vaccination for hepatitis B in adults is also recommended in adults at risk of HBV infection, in settings where a high proportion have risk factors for HBV infection and vaccination of adults requesting protection from HBV without acknowledgement of a specific risk factor. The dosing schedule is 0, 1 to 2 months, and 4 to 6 months. There is some flexibility in the schedule, but be sure to keep in mind the minimum intervals between doses: At least four weeks between doses #1 and #2.
