Oncopadi not only offers direct patient support but also sponsors a training and education program in partnership with the College of Medicine at the University of Lagos, enrolling hundreds of students each year. A key aspect of Oncopadi’s mission to conquer cancer is our dedication to providing licensed and certified healthcare professionals worldwide with easy access to high-quality learning opportunities in supportive cancer care.
Our diverse training options offer excellent preparation for advancing careers in oncology. We provide online continuing education courses and onsite training opportunities that equip doctors, nurses, and healthcare professionals to deliver evidence-based supportive cancer care within their local communities. Each program is designed by Oncopadi faculty members, focusing on your needs and the needs of cancer patients everywhere.
Multiple training pathways are available to engage in research and participate in digital oncology internships, workshops and clinical rotations. We collaborate with reputable organizations such as academic institutions, cancer centres and global partners to offer online training and specialized programs in several key areas.

Standardizing The Acute Side Effects Reporting And Management Through a Practice Improvement Program (STARPIPE) Online Program
Research has shown that when healthcare professionals incorporate discussions about reporting and managing side effects into treatment, patients tend to adhere better to their treatment, have a better quality of life, and achieve better outcomes.
Program Format
This education program is a self-paced online course comprising five modules with lessons. Each lesson lasts 10–20 minutes, and comprehension checks follow each module. The modules are followed by an exam, which requires a passing score of 75% to complete the program.
Registration Information
STARPIPE Training enlists a learning management system to offer a unique engagement platform for hosting our online courses. Our training platform is intuitively designed, and mobile platforms allow you to complete your course on your smartphone, tablet, or laptop.
Once your course fee payment is processed successfully, you will receive a receipt from Oncopadi sent directly to the email account you entered during registration. Within 48 hours, the STARPIPE Coordinator will upload your name, email, and course selection into the learning platform. Once completed, you will receive an email from the Coordinator containing a link to access the learning platform. You will be asked to create a username and password to personalize your learning experience. Every time you wish to watch a lecture, you will return to the learning platform and enter the username and password you created.
Target Audience
The STARPIPE program is intended for healthcare professionals who practice in rural and urban settings who diagnose, manage, and treat cancer and those who develop programs (administrators) to improve the quality of life for people living with cancer.
The STARPIPE Program is enriched with six live workshops and a comprehensive online course for cancer specialists and primary care physicians, providing students with a solid understanding of side effect management, supportive cancer care and remote symptom monitoring. Participants will explore evidence-based strategies to support cancer patients better, from practical tips for managing everyday issues like fatigue and nausea to practical methods for data collection and leading effective side effect clinics.
Faculty
Taught by a global multidisciplinary faculty, the lessons begin with a comprehensive list of common side effects from cancer treatments and explain how different therapies may interact to produce side effects.
